I was told about this which took place before my first birthday....... Mam told me that she had put me in a sink to wash and bath me as a baby and turned away to grab a towel. I slipped and nearly drowned because I could not stop the water entering through my air lip and cleft palate. But you did not panic you remembered what the nurse had told you to do to lift me up by my feet and let the water drain away and rub my back to help me breath again. A week later I would have an operation to seal up the cleft. On this day the 2nd of June 1996 you sent me £20’s for my birthday, I bought a pizza and hired a video and six cans of beer, it wasn’t the fact that you remembered my birthday that made me love you. No that wasn’t the kindest most considerate thing you did that day. What was more, far more thoughtful was the money you sent Brenda and the girls on the same day. You knew I could not go home to earn money because I was deep into my second year degree exams. You did all this and much more over the years because you loved me, which makes me so sad because I can no longer tell you that I love you. I miss you so much Peter
